 The Daily Report

While Creation may have taken seven days (or eight -- bonus points if you can name that Heinlein reference!), Worldcon does quite nicely with five days, thank you very much.

And believe us, it's an action-packed five days. Worldcon prides itself on running 24 hours -- no matter what time it is, you can find something to do. After hours? No problem -- there's gaming, adult-only readings, dances, or just hanging out in the hotel lobby for an all-night chat session.

As for when it all starts, most people arrive on Thursday morning, but a few determined fen arrive on Wednesday or even Tuesday to settle in and do a little sightseeing before they do the con. Which is a good idea, because once the con starts you usually don't leave the hotel for anything other than food.

(Although with the Tapestry Street Fair going on right outside the hotel, Melanie may just sneak out to go fondle quilts. She's funny that way, you know.)

In any case, check in here regularly to see what Melanie, Bill, Derek and Gloria have been doing on a daily basis -- police reports, tabloid links, quality gossip (with names changed, of course -- we don't want lawsuits) and details of fabric purchases will be included.
