  Thursday

Technically, the first 7 or 8 pictures were taken Wednesday night on our way to San José, but I figured y'all wouldn't mind seeing them anyway.

While we were dashing for the Houston - San José flight, we came across a statue of Shrub's Dad at the Houston airport named after him. "Gosh," Lyndon commented, "he looks like he's waiting for his wife." I have no idea what this means, but it made me laugh hysterically at the time.

A closeup of the ex-pres, clothes merrily flapping in the breeze.
Lyndon waiting for the elevator. We're about to head to the bar for some much-needed alcohol.
I'm hot, I'm tired, and I want my Bailey's. Now.
The lobby of the Fairmont Hotel, already populated with fen. Off in the far corner, Mike Resnick and Janis Ian are gabbing with a group of friends, and Steve Stirling was propping up the bar with other fen.
